Then let's debate David Spade's acting.

At some parts, I really felt he acted outside of his character were he became incapable of really pulling it off. Most notably, the scenes when he crashes into things or fights with hoses or just simply goes crazy... He has that calm and synical image because that's who he is, so I don't think this film worked out for him as much as he did in other films. He simply couldn't act it out at all in my opinion. He should have stayed witty to the end...

So far, the only thing I can think of that I liked about the film is the concept of a former child star trying to spark up his career, AND the fact that they actually had a bunch of former child stars (umong other cameos) appear in the film as well.

spade made the movie good without him..it would have been quite bad

The premise was good. Spade's acting was good. The writing was a little lack-luster. The story and talent offered so much potential for an extremely funny movie, but writing didn't take full advantage of all the comedic moments.

It just wasn't very funny. There was maybe one or two laughs tops. The premise was good which makes the movie even more frustrating because of all the missed opportunities. I loved the former child star cameos.
