Questions brought up by this film upon first and interrupted viewing

1.) As presented on the Sci-Fi Channel, this film is titled "Miner Massacre". This led to some confusion early on, as I am unaware if any miners were indeed massacred by the lead character at any point. The victims were actually horny twentysomethings. Was there a scene in the film in which miners were massacred, or perhaps doing the massacre-ing? Is it a pun perhaps (a "minor" massacre, as no one would really feel bad if any of the characters died).

2.) The main character, "Jeremiah Stone", seems to be an early proponent of Satanism. Granted that the film's prehistory is set in the California Gold Rush, and Anton LeVay founded the Church of Satan well into the 20th Century, what conclusions can be drawn as to the extent of Satanism in pre-modern times? What was the ratio of Satanist miners to non-Satanist miners in early California? Was Satanism a popular cult belief amongst the Forty-Niners, or was the predominance of Christianity able to continue in the camps?

3.) The name "Jeremiah Stone" sounds too porn-star-esque for a horror film villain. Perhaps, if there is a sequel, consider an alternative and more threatening name. "Tim", perhaps...

4.) The film is listed as having been produced in 2003, which I take it was a particularly bad year for miner-related horror films. Are there other examples of this genre that offer more variations on the theme, perhaps in a more satisfying way for the home viewer?

5.) The old man who gives the weird guy the poster of Jeremiah...excuse me, Tim, he seems to have set up a regular business of this what with the printer and copies of the same poster which he pawns off on tourists for what seems to be the only source of income in his part of the county. Tim comes along and kills this man for no discernable reason (he takes a ring off the guy's hand, but I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the plot). Why does Tim wait to attack now? Has the old man been lax in his luring-young-idiots-to-their-demise business? Was there an arrangement of some sorts that the old man reneged on? If this is his only source of income, should he really leave himself open to betraying Satanic miners?

6.) Are there census statistics on the ratio of Satanist miners in Gold Rush California? I'm obsessing on this, I see.

7.) Why did I watch this movie? Can I have the two hours back that I spent on this piece of junk?

You know a ton of fourteen-year-old girls?

I can answer all you rquestions in just one sentence.
It's just fluff.

I liked it because it was just a fun movie that you didn't have to think about. You can tell just by looking at the movie box that you're not going to very impressed by the acting or special effects.
