Yes. I loved it. Of course, I haven't seen the David Lean version nor read the book, but after seeing this last night, i surely will. I am planning on buying it, but I think you should rent it or borrow it from the library first.

i havnt seen the David Lean movie, but i have read the book and i believe this version does the book jutstice! i loved the mini series soooo much!! its my favorite movie!! so yeah i would recomend you see it then decide if you would like to buy it
shareI rated it a 10, but after seeing it a second time, I might lower that to a nine. Not because it's bad (I would watch it again and again) but because I have a high standard. I don't think it's in the same cinematic league as 2001 or Lawrence of Arabia. Of course, I've seen it on tv, edited and broken up over a week, so that affects the experience. It is excellent, but it's not perfect. It comes damn close, though.
It should be an 8 on the IMDb, but that may take awhile, so I'll leave it at 10!
