Dating My Cousin: "What he stole was materialistic."

"Him missing on his child's birth is forever."

Well, honey, Andrew should have thought about when he stole. Doesn't matter if what he stole was material, necessary, cheap or priceless. He stole and now he has to pay for his consequences. I sure hope she feels the same way if someone stole her stuff.

I am having such a hard time getting through this episode and I'm only ten minutes in. Even if they weren't cousins, he's a burglar and maybe just maybe the family doesn't wanna bail a thief out of jail? The other girl hurt me bad when she said they'd been to the "geologalnagist". Sigh.

It was originally one of the realest reality TV shows but now it's lacking "reality" in it, too.

I haven't watched this show in several years and I'm shocked. WTH, cousins having kids together?!? And the chick who left for California just left that trailer with all that shyt in it? The other one is standing by her jailbird cheating cousin? Too much, I just can't.

reply

I thought the same thing about leaving the trailer with everything in it. Also, what happened to those two cute puppies running around in the beginning? Did they get left behind too? To me it seemed more like they were going on some weird family vacation / testing the waters in California, instead of actually moving out there. I mean who moves their family across country, packs up some stuff and leaves the rest, without any semblance of a plan. It was cringe worthy to watch. Not just because they were cousins, but because they seemed to just pick up and move with their small children without any planing or forethought.

Now on to the girl whose baby daddy cousin is in jail, I have no sympathy. He is in jail for a reason. Just because he is the father-second cousin of your soon to be children, does not mean he gets a get out of jail free card. And if he is being sentenced to several years in jail for burglary, he most likely stole something very valuable and or is a repeat offender. That is probably the reason the family refused to help. They were either too poor, or too fed up with his bad behavior to bail him out. Sometimes you have to let the ones close to you learn lessons the hard way. And her nerve to say that it was just material items. Yeah I get it, but how would she feel if someone broke in and stole her money, tv, computer etc... and she was now footed with filing a police report, trying to file an insurance claim, and possibly paying money out of her own pocket to re-buy the items that were stolen and pay for possible legal fees! Seriously! Burglaries end up costing the victim(s) money and time! Zero sympathy for her jail bird, and hard to sympathize with her for willingly choosing to be with someone like that.

i could never move spur of the moment with two kids and no guaranteed place to stay. i wonder where are Grace & Dylan now.

This enraged me so much. Talk about feeling entitled. Even if it was "just" material things, it's material things that other people worked hard to get, unlike her gross baby daddy.

And home burglary is so much more than material things, it's losing one's ability to feel safe even in the place they should feel the most safe, it's not knowing if that person is there to just rob you, or rob, rape, and murder you.

I can only imagine her boo-hooing if her cousin ever got killed by a homeowner. I almost wish someone would go rob her just as a way to teach her how the victims felt.

It would probably be better if her kid never gets to meet her inbred thieving and probably cheating sperm donor.

Off topic, did anyone else think that girl sounds like Janelle from Teen Mom? Her voice and her accent...I mostly just listened to the episode while I worked on something and I kept thinking it was Janelle.

I thought she sounded like Janelle too!

Total Jenelle vibes. Not only her tone of voice but they way she tried to sound smart but really isn't.

Also, does she think the victims are going to feel sympathy for the guy who broke into their house and his knocked-up girlfriend? Absolutely not, and especially so after they find out they're a couple of freaky backwoods inbreeders!
