I don't know how that Jessica girl stands the sound of her own voice. She made me nuts.

Hahaha agreed.

I feel bad for these people, but her voice is so nasally and yet she said she doesn't like that type of voice! Go figure!

Also the other woman didn't like high pitch sounds, yet she squealed when she saw her best friend? Weird!

I don't care if this sounds ignorant, but it sounds like quite a narcissistic disorder. Everything everyone else does is annoying except their own irritating voices and faces and sounds. If I knew anyone like this I'd gladly tell them to go fly a kite. Not sorry.

I haven't seen the episode, but it sounds like they chose the wrong people to shed light on the condition.

I have dealt with it for years. Nail biting, teeth sucking, and eating noises actually have physical effects on me. Those particular noises are so bothersome that I actually tense up, and I literally cannot stand to be around them.

BUT - it's my issue and condition to deal with. I would never in a million years expect anyone else to change a behavior for me. I simply try my best to remove myself from a situation where those noise are occurring, or...if I can't do that, headphones and music work wonders!!

To RiseyRisa's point - if the individuals afflicted try to act as though everyone else has the problem, that those folks are simply annoying and noisy, and expect them to adapt or change, then I agree, they are being incredibly selfish.
