Come On People!!!

After finishing the 3rd episode of Kingpin, I came to this board and expected to see prasie upon praise of the show and I must say i was apalled to see that so many people disliked it. I don't care what you say, the show is amazing. It is so nice to see a new show that is not some lame sitcom. Kingpin has great acting, a good story and it is extremely entertaining. Kingpin is a welcome change from the constant crap that is polluting the airwaves. As far as the stereotype issue goes, people are way too sensitive. Kingpin is about Mexican drug dealers, why is that being stereotypical? My only hope is that there are more shows like Kingpin to come in the future.

Exactly, and they also cover that w/o saying it in a way, like the British guy on last Tursday's ep, even the Asian guy in, I think Ep.3. As for African-americans, there's only the one (that I know of), but you also see the ones working against the traffic(i.e Malik Yoba's character). All types of people working either side, no matter what, and it's good this show's making people see that, instead of some a-hole sittin' back and sayin' "I knew that's what all those (insert race) ever did."

I must remark on your comment, " Kingpin is a welcome change from the constant crap that is polluting the airwaves." OH MY GOD!!! Are you kidding me? Oh yeah, let's put out a show about friggin' drug dealers, with graphic violence, drugs being consumed on air, etc. And you consider this QUALITY, NON-CRAPPY programming?!

Like we're not indundated enough with violent images, now here is another fine example from Hollyfreakwood glorifying the world of drugs, crime and anything for money. And people like you think it's cool. Unbelievable!! I am embarassed to say I work in this business when such crap-with-no-social-conscious is being consistently put out.

Why do people wonder why teen-agers are shooting each other in school and murdering their parents in more creative-than-ever ways? The typical Americans' level of ignorance is embarrassing. And people wonder why I watch The Discovery Channel, TLC and A&E. Does anybody even THINK anymore?!?!?

Pathetic...truly pathetic.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you are way off with your remark about shows like Kingpin casuing kids to go around killing each other. Kids that are capable of commiting these violent crimes should obviously not be watching violent TV shows in the first place. If a kid can kill his parents or somebosy else then his problems stem a lot deeper then violent televsion. I am sure millions upon millions of people watched Kingpin and didn't get the sudden urge to kill somebody. Normal people can watch shows like Kingpin and appreciate it for the entertainment value and nothing else. I am sick to death of people blaming the media for their children's violent behavior. Parents need to wake up and start parenting their kids and stop using violent televsion as an excuse for bad behaviour. That is what is truley pathetic.

It is a TV SHOW. It is NOT real. YOU spelled inundated wrong. Maybe you should find a different line of work if you are morally opposed to this type of program.

This show is a weak, repeat: WEAK clone of the sopranos. True I only saw the first 2 episodes but I refused to watch more because I fell asleep during those first 2. Sad that all TV is a bunch of stupid clones.
