I'm surprised that Kingpin was compared to The Sopranos. Whilst both had immoral characters committing despicable acts, The Sopranos had more complex characterisations. This created moments where audiences could truly connect with the characters, such as Tony's issues with his Mother. Whereas Kingpin's characterisations were one dimensional and contradictory, especially with Miguel. I could not sympathise with any of the characters despite Kingpin's sentimental attempts to do so, except for Delia. Her story arc was the only one with any redeeming quality.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.
