shareit was not filmed as just one whole movie together, it is three different shorts put together. all of them were made at different times.
shareI still don't get it. Each of the individual shorts was released in 2002, but the compilation was after Three Extremes I? It wouldn't make sense for it to be listed as a 2002 movie in that case.
The odd thing is that the original language title of Three Extremes II is Saam Gaang, and the original language title of Three Extremes I is Saam Gaang Yi - what does Yi mean. And is it possible that Three Extremes I is really the sequel to Three Extremes II, but since the former had more success in the US, they decided to release the latter as "II" even though it was originally made before "I".
"Yi" of course means '2' in Cantonese. Yes that makes 3 Extremes 1 the sequel to this film.
shareIn my country (México) this film have been correctly named "Tr3s extremos" and its sequel have been properly titled "Tr3s extremos 2".
I think is only in the USA where the original film have been sold as the "sequel" by the studio that is distributing these films over there (Lionsgate), and solely for marketing purposes.
