I used to hate this movie but its really grown on me over the years

I remember hating it when it first came out and thinking it was one of the worst remakes, but i dunno over the years i've started to appreciate it more and more. Just the amount of dread this movie has in its atmosphere is off the charts, and this Leatherface really does feel like a fucking beast whos gonna fuck you up when he gets a hold of you.

And Jessica Biel in those tiny tight jeans and skin tight tank top is another big plus this movie has going for it, holy shit.

This movie is awesome, I think it is one of the best horror movie remakes and personally I prefer it over the original. As you mentioned the whole atmosphere of the movie is great and evokes so much dread the cinematography and color palette for the movie enhances this as well. It has really good pacing, good kills, a great final chase scene with a nice payoff of Erin running over the sheriff. The movie is also quite serious and ovoids any of the usual comedic tropes which is a plus and contributes to the dread.

And of course Jessica Biel is downright perfection in this movie with that outfit, damn. Also Erica Leerhsen who I've always enjoyed, a shame she hasn't done anything for over half a decade.

All in all this is a really great movie

For platinum dunes, it's really good. Unlike recent TCM movies, it establishes a crazy family really well. R. Lee Ermy was fantastic and Leatherface was just a part of the family.

It has its over polished look, but for a remake, I'm happy with it. It's not as good as the original, but it's a solid movie.

It's a great film.

I find the film is aging remarkably well. So many other Horror films from the early-00s are easily definable to that time period. This TCM film could be made today and not look out of place.
