why is there a ? mark on one of the characters I beat the game but its still there why is it there.

They are holiday cars.
You can unlock them by setting your ps2/xbox/gamecube to these dates:
On Halloween, the character "Halloween Bart" is unlocked.
On Thanksgiving, the character "Thanksgiving Marge" is unlocked.
On Christmas, the character "Christmas Apu" is unlocked. (This is strange as since Apu is Hindu, he presumably does not celebrate Christmas).
On New Year's Day, the character "New Years Krusty" is unlocked.
If you set the calander of your console to the correct date, the holiday car should appear in the question mark space when you play the game.
Unfortunatley if I remember correctly, the frame and driving abilities of the holiday cars are the same as the regular character cars. Just the design is different.
