Pictures!

Yeah because those can't be faked.

extra irony was the discussion at the beginning, where Chuck was refusing to do a redesign to include pictures and jazzier covers.

Jayson Blair' articles had pictures though.

I thought the same thing, in fact given the lengths that Glass was willing to go through to perpetuate his lies I wouldn't put it past him to hire actors to play the people in his pictures lol.

I only know what was in the movie.

But from what we saw in the movie, what was made obvious in it, was that Glass did a HORRIBLE job at faking a simple business card (!), a web site, and the email accounts (remember, most of them did not work). Nor did he do such a good job of faking the Jukt phone number, voice message, and late night callback.

Also, as far as I know from the movie, those were the ONLY times he ever tried to falsely substantiate anything in a story (using some method beyond his fake notes). And the very first time he tried, he was caught.

So, yes, he faked those things ... but he was HORRIBLE AT IT!

So why would anyone think that he would be capable enough to fake pictures?

It would make it HARDER for Glass (or somebody like him) to fabricate sources, but they could still do it.

The only utterly foolproof way to guarantee all sources were legitimate would be to require that all sources would be required to meet IN PERSON with the reporter AND an editor -- separately.

That would effectively guarantee all sources were legitimate but also limit you to writing stories about sources who could physically come to your office (or you go to theirs).
