Norwegian homeopathic medecine ?

Is there someone who might know about the remedies Isak had for Folke.

Its no wonder he didnt go to the doctor, believing in odd treatments for illness.
He had Folke sleeping on the horse ??!! and whats with the cat fur around his neck..???

One more question, was that room full of pepper yet another "spice for life".
I waited for some kinda elaboration on the pepper thing, but saw none.

Why did the fish make Folke so ill, (who sent it, anyway) yet Isac ate with impunity. Did I miss something here..??

I didnt know I enjoyed this movie until it was over, and found that I cared about the guys. I didnt understand the partying men and woman on the plane, but I dont suppose there is anything to get anyway, eh..??

I especially liked the sounds in this movie. I could hear the feet on the snow, and of course, the radio sound in Isacs tooth...what a hoot..!!!! With so little dialog, I listened to everything else.
If there was snow in the ground, why didnt anyone shiver from the cold or even wear coats. Is it a dry cold in that part of the world that doesnt feel cold, or some such.
I hope someone is still reading posts here; I was late discovering this film, just out in Atlanta.
Thanks
B

First off. My english is not good, but I hope you'll understand what i'm trying to say ;)

To the fish:

I don't think it was the fish that made him sick, but the alcohol he drank with it. Then again he might have been eating to much and to FAST. That can make you ill. The food came from his mum I think.

The women and men in the plane:
They talked about a "doctor" coming soon, to check the "results".
The final result may have been, as we have seen. That the test was not only to see what people did in the kitchen, but what people do when they have someone observating them.

"This is may be the whole "point" of the movie. The men in charge (men on the plane) is in no control of what's actualy happening (symbol: drunk). The man given charge over the observators is to narrow in his view of thing. (symbol: straight). The observator coming down from his high chair to be on the same "level" as the man on the floor. (symbole: comunication, friendship, human...)"

The pepper:
They were drunk when they "smelled" the pepper. "Drunk men do stupid things".
Again it shows that they have fun together :) Just a little scene to show their friendship in a strange way I think.

Odd Treatments:
This I don't know much about, but I do know that it's good for your health to be in contact with animals. Maby that's why he sleept on the horse?

Finaly:
This is just my point of view. Make your own if you don't like it ;)

I just LOVE movies! :D
I want to MAKE movies!

According to traditional Norwegian folklore, cat skin heals a cold and a sore throat. Who knows why, but at least when I was growing up in Norway, it was generally acknowledged to have at least some merit. As for the horse... I'm really not sure.

The room full of pepper could also be a symbol of a certain norwegian mentality, cheapness, willingness to do pretty crazy things to save relatively small amounts of money. Maybe I see the film with a little to norwegian eyes, but to me the relationship between Norway and Sweden is a very important subject. I also briefly thought about the horses (the real horese and the swedish wooden horese) being symbols for the two countries, but I think I would have to see the film again to put my finger on how.

"He had Folke sleeping on the horse ??!!"
i'm not sure at all, but it could be for the position that Folke has while sleeping on the horse or for the warmth of the horse...but theese are just ideas
