No extras?!?!?

I recently bought this dvd and while I enjoyed the movie, it had none of the extras advertised on the back of the dvd case. In fact, I could access no menu options at all, when I hit the menu button it just gives me the red circle with line thru it. I have never encountered this with a dvd before. Has anybody else encountered this? Are there two different versions of the dvd?

The dvd I got included this funny short about Bob sending the Melvin Goes to Dinner to this guy's film festival. Also I think it included some clips of the stage production of the movie.

I have this dvd and it has a few extras, including audio commentaries, frank international film festival short, and clips from the original play. Your dvd might be defective.

There are two versions being sold of the "Melvin..." DVD.

One version is "ASIN: B00080ZGX8" which currently sells new at Amazon for $17.99. I'm guessing that version is the one Potofgold bought.

The second version is "ASIN: B0000DI87U" which sells new at Amazon for $23.99 and contains the extras that CosbyShowFan is talking about.

I don't always enjoy the extras on a DVD, but I've got to admit that the 15-minute short "Frank International Film Festival" and the "Phyro-Giants" stage play scenes were a lot of fun. And yes, I enjoyed the actors' commentary track as well.

Uggh. I got the one without the extras too. Being a devoted Mr. Show and Odenkirk fan I'm gonna have to spring for another one. Why oh why do these companies always have to put out different versions of DVD's? Kills me.

Howdy all. I've wanted to buy this flick for ages but don't know which version to go for. I'm attracted to the jazzy comic book cut-up cover but I want the version with the most extras. Which do I go for please?

reply

Anybody?

reply

Go for the version with extras.
