The Family's home...all white?

I was wondering if anyone actually read or watched commentary in which someone who worked on the film actually states as to why the family;s hosue is like all white! The walls, the chair covers, the furniture the picture frames, all the kitchen appliances and even clothes worn in that house are mostly white ! Is it part of the symbolism of "the perfect"family/life the mother wants?

I think that is what it is, but all the white was almost unbearable to the eye!

"Yet in his eyes, all the sadness of the world. Those pleading eyes that both threaten and adore"

In Korea, white is traditionally worn to funerals. It could be a take on that. I didn't watch the commentary, though. Just guessing. =)

I noticed that everything was all white too. I kept waiting for it all to get covered with blood.

But like rabbitmancer said white is warn to funerals. It is associated with death in some Asian cultures.
