The show in the US?

Does anyone know when this show will start airing in the US?

reply

If the comments from Swedish Viewers is any indication, It probably will never air in the US.

I was an extra/actor several times on this show while it was being shot down in Miami, FL several years ago. I did shots as a band member in the supposed opening sequences of the show at Club Liquid down in South Beach. The drummer for the death metal band Malevolent Creation was also in the band and played the bongos. I also acted as a paparazzi taking photographs as celebrities entered the club. I also appeared several times in strip club scenes. I guess they actually filmed this show hoping to sell it to a television station and was supposed to be in Sweden and then the United States. I remember being at the Doll House (strip club) and we all had to be really quiet while Victoria Jackson was doing her lines. We were all trying hard not to laugh or make any noise but was difficult because she was completely terrible and had to do about 7 takes cause she kept screwing up her lines. It seemed like the people who made this show didn't really know what they were doing though as film makers. For one, in the club liquid scene I was a band member playing bass guitar and then it would cut to people dancing and I was sitting at the bar having a drink wearing the same clothes while the music and the band was still playing. How could someone be in 2 places at the same time? Then right after that it was cut to celebrities walking into the club and I was outside taking pictures of them at the same time I was supposed to be on stage playing music and I was at the bar. Also in the strip club scenes that I filmed, it was supposed to take place over 3 separate days but for the most part I was seen sitting in the same seat watching the same stripper the entire time and wearing the same clothes. They also had a shot of me entering the strip club as well. Basically it looked as if I was sitting there for 3 days straight and never left my seat. Overall the strip club scenes were the best because I just had to sit there and look at naked women and got paid 10dollars an hour plus they fed us lunch. It was pretty fun being on the set though and was hoping this show would air in the United States but it never did. If anyone has tapes or DVD's of this show let me know cause I'd like to see it. E-mail me at [email protected] . Thanks!

do you remeber jessica sutta? jody starr?

reply

nah I've never actually seen the show except for the times I did extras work on the set...If I did see Jessica Sutta I probably wouldn't have known cause I dont know what she looks like. The only person I know for a fact I saw was Victoria Jackson just cause I remember her from being on SNL in the 90's. I'd really like to see a few episodes of it though just to see if this was decent or not...

reply

Its not even remotely close to being decent. Its awful in every aspect.
Funny thing is they promoted it heavily before it was shot, then it was never mentioned ever again. Now it runs as filler on mornings. Also the credits flash by in about one second so its obvious no-one wants to touch this pile of complete failure.

Yes Jessica Sutta (pussycats dolls) was one of the "highschoolers" for that portion of the series plot....there were 3 diff storylines...1) a rich, mob-connected fashion empire family relocates to Miami, 2) thier kids go to the same high school 3) a serial killer follows, from NYC to miami, the killer could be a family member.

I had a small part as Jody (jessicas) moms, creepy ex boyfriend, Roger. The mom ran the "sweetshop" the high school kids would hang in after school. My character was also a substitiute teacher at Jody's school. I never saw my scene, as Ive never seen the series but it doesnt sound like it was edited very well....oh well.

I think people need to get the right context of why this was made in the first place - basically, it was the replacement to the hugely popular "Sunset Beach" - it seemed like a good idea, making an American soap but putting in a few Swedish characters so that the Swedish audience could relate to it. It also received a *beep*load of hype when it was first announced. It was even supposed to be sold to international markets!

Then nothing. Literally, there was nothing on the show for months and barely any promotion before the premiere - and when it did finally premiere... oh boy. First of all, there were way too many characters thrown at you - I guess they figured that they'd kill quite a few so best to pack that cast, eh? Secondly, Swedish television decided to part the episodes up into half hour episodes - anything to get the most for your money I guess, but this led to a lot of episodes just to end without any sort cliffhanger to leave you wanting to watch the next episode.

Then there was the shoddy way it was filmed - it looked like something you'd do for a laugh with your friends rather than something done by professionals. Lightning was also horrible, leaving everyone looking rather harsh. And the writing... the less said the better!

It did improve a bit by the end, but it was really too little too late.

I remember this show. :P I'm Swedish. I'd love to see this trash again. Can't someone upload it to Youtube? ;)
