The Film location on IMDB says Sienna Italy, but since its called " My House in Umbria" ----

My guess would be it is IN UMBRIA ! LOL

I've been trying to determine which one of the numerous small hill towns in Umbria it is. And I haven't found the right one yet. It is very much like Panicale, but I don't think it is. The cliffs fall away more steeply, and it doesn't seem quite as large.

It's way too late, but the credits thank

Comune di San Casciano V.P. (Fl)

and

Consorzio 'Villa Arceno'

and also say

Shot on location in San Casciano, Siena and Cinecitta Studios, Italy

So actually the town is not in Umbria, but in Tuscany:

The town shown as they're driving around looked more like Civita di Bagnoregio than any of the towns in the credits. It's a very cool place to visit, and not too far from Rome. You can find many pictures on the net.

Little late for the original poster but want to add that the house is Villa Arceno http://www.arceno.it/en/ in central Tuscany
and available for guests!

from their website
The Villa Arceno estate, among the most famous in the Chianti area, sprawls over an area of about 1.000 hectares in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, about 10 km from Siena.
Built in 1671, the villa was restored by Percassi in 1992 and subsequently converted into luxury residences.

There are 34 houses inside the property, 30 of which have been completely renovated and over time have become home to prominent families from all over the world. Renovation work on the hotel began once a recovery plan was approved for the renovation of the buildings in front of the villa, with the creation of 33 rooms to be added to the existing 16 suites in the main building, bringing the total number of rooms to 49.

While restoration work on the villa is complete, the remainder of the building is in an advanced state of renovation.

In addition to offering the comfort and efficiency of a modern hotel, Villa Arceno meets the needs of those who wish to visit this beautiful corner of Tuscany.

In the film, when the Inspector is quizzing Quinty in the hospital, he said "I understand she owns a hotel near the village of Chiusi"

There is such a village, but its in Tuscany almost on the border with Umbria, which makes sense.

Googld "Chiusi" and you'll find information on Chiusi.
