I know this movie is pretty awful. I honestly believe that 80% of why it was bad was the poor choice of sound effects and the terrible acting. The best actors in the whole thing were probably the folks who played bit parts.

The vampire priest (although he was trying) was probably the worst and that guy who kept saying "we're glad to have you back father" was probably the second worst.

And what was with those mountain cat sound effects for the vampires?

Terrible acting goes a long way to destroying even a decent story, but this one was overrun with the former and completely lacking in the latter. I think the priest's sister was completely grating, and the Muzaky strings were excruciating. Yes, some of the bit actors were acceptable, but fortunately most of them were disguised in makeup so they can deny any involvement with this later. It's a midnight mess.
