Is this game and 'KHII' for kids only?

Are there in this world any adults playing this game? Does it have any groovy material that can amaze an adult as well as a kid? The DVD has "a spider sign" on the box meaning it has something scary. Does it really have anything frightening that can damage the mentality of a child? And finally, is Donald given enough attention in the game to deliver his signature fits of fury and incompetence?

Just checking the tough sides of this classic before actually trying it.

Thanks and regards

It's not really frightening, but it is slightly darker than most of Disney's other stuff. The Heartless, the main enemy in the game, are more goofy than anything else, yet somehow they managed to make the game dark without making it scary. Granted, it is Disney, so there's plenty of humor and positivity throughout the story. It's more like the old days of Disney when they had the guts to kill off Bambi's mother. Basically it's aimed at kids, but takes them much more seriously than most other entertainment works aimed at this demographic nowadays. Thus, it's also enjoyable for adults, also thanks to the many classic Disney and character films that are covered. I'm 19 and I love this game.

Seriously, I wouldn't let the fact that it's Disney put you off. Kingdom Hearts strikes a great balance between maturity and "kid-friendliness".

I think Dutch said it perfectly, so I don't have much else to add except that I'll be 18 in about two days, and I still love this game to this day. It's a lot of fun, and has the right amount of silliness and seriousness throughout. Also, they sort of give their own twist to the classic Disney movies, but the characters are still the same lovable Disney characters we all know and love, and the game does give justice to them despite changing things up a little so things will flow more with the plot of the game. And yes, Donald is one of those said characters, and his "fits of fury" are not ignored and he is given a lot of screen time to show them. Even when he shoots his spells/gets hit he makes that funny "quack scream", lol.

Yeah, there's plenty of instances where Donald shows his short temper. Hell, Goofy's the more sensible of the two! As you can see, he's played by the same voice actor who also plays him in all current Disney cartoons, movies etc, i.e. the "real" Donald Duck voice.

I wouldn't say it's particularly kid-oriented because it's an RPG. If a really young child wanted to play it you'd have to explain experience points, leveling up, and customizing upgrades. Granted, it's not hard stuff to pick up, but there is a learning curve and it takes some adjusting.

It's a fun game though. There's nothing really dark about it that I can remember (it's been years since I've played through it, though) except scenes of people losing their 'hearts' (which in KH is like one's soul I think).

This for me this fits perfectly into the all ages category.

Kingdom Hearts= A really entertaining adventure game (albeit severely overrated) with a whole lot of charm and some sights that will bring you back to your childhood.

Kingdom Hearts II= A linear and dull game with a retardedly low difficulty level, introduction of extremely boring characters, and a nonsensical plot.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
