I could be mistaken-

but the ending of this film outside the building with the negotiators- was I the only one that caught shades of "Rebel without a cause" ? Perhaps he was battling within, one character as an amalgam of Stark and Plato- he was cold and threw on the red jacket for comfort- looking like Dean on top of which- goes outside to be confronted by the police- gets shot when he really had no intention to shoot at everyone.

I like that the whole movie, though one would argue was semi cliché with the whole "the psychy of a man losing his mind and destroying his life" had a neat twist of the celebrity stalking the fan.
