Very good.
One of my favorite Dutch movies.

wat geweldig dat een nederlandse film als zo goed kan worden beschouwd (meestal zijn ze niet zo best)... jammer dat ik het nergens kan vinden. ONE DAY zal ik het zien.

For the offended english-speaking ;)
It's great that a dutch film can be thought of as a really good one (usually they aren't that WOW)... to bad I can't find it anywhere. ONE DAY i will see it.

Nederlandse films zijn meestal niet zo goed nee, maar je moet een keer "Karakter" (over een jonge jongen in A'dam/R'dam die geen vader heeft, en er langzaam toch achterkomt wie het is, en dan ziet dat het een monster is, een deurwaarder) kijken, die is niet alleen genomineerd voor een oscar, maar heeft 'm ook nog is in de wacht gesleept.

I am not a big fan of Dutch movies (being Dutch myself) but De Tweeling is really very enjoyable and moving. I only wish it had been half an hour longer because some scenes seem terribly rushed and could have done with more exposure. Still, a great movie and one that deserves to win the Oscar (hey, if 'Antonia' could win it...)

1 This is a English board, so it is appreciated if you post your comments in English.
2 I don't really like it, the acting is so so, the story doesn't seem to grip me because of that and the twisted storyline that's told better in the book then in the film.
Also, I really miss a certain scene concerning a dog.

I guess that a response in both languages is most appreciated. Americans can get very upset when it concerns other languages (and I don't mean it in any offensive way, it's just that this is a good site and a good chance to conect with people worldwide-Don't get me wrong).
And to WAJZ_THE_WHITE: "Antonia's line" DID get the foreign language Oscar. IT WON. So correct me if I'm wrong.

And De Tweeling is a very good movie, touching, seeing it in an epical way or from the feminism-not to mention the art perspective! I guess that now that the WW2 and the nazis is revisited in many movies is interesting to know what happened with the germans after the war was over, and how were they treated in the rest of Europe... A compelling and universal matter ('cause I'm not even from Europe).

Echt een goede film net als het boek

Wel een hele goede film, had ook de oscar verdient allen een van de belangrijkste scenes van de film, de scheiding van de tweeling vond ik niet goed uitgewerkt.

A very good movie and they should have deserved the oscar just the one of the most importanr parts of the movie, the scene where the twins where split could have been worked out better.

I saw this film last week. I am not used to crying in the movies, but this time I cried, this movie really touched me. Between the two sisters, I liked Anna character the most.

I just rented it and I must say: this is not only one of the best Dutch movies, but one of the better ones worldwide. I really enjoyed watching it and it was a great movie.(Geweldige film, toch?)

Shakie, ik hoop dat je het hebt gezien. Het laatste deel is vandaag net geweest. Wat een prachtige film. Mooie sfeer, mooi verhaal, goed acteerwerk. Ik heb het boek niet gelezen, dus ik kan geen vergelijking maken. Maar de film is echt een topper.

Shakie, I hope you've seen the movie. The last part was just on tv. What a beautifull movie. beautifull story, great acting. I haven't read the book, so I can't compare it to the novel. But the movie is brilliant.

wasn't my favorite movie...but wasn't bad either

Ik heb de film gezien en vond het wel lastig dat er niet altijd ondertiteling was. Ik ben van België, en het nederlands accent was soms lastig te verstaan.
Ik vond het wel een geweldig mooie film, heel ontroerend en het schets een goed beeld van hoe de oorlog was!

I've seen the movie and it was't easy without the subtitles. I'm from Belgium so I speak dutch, but the accent from Holland is different so it was sometime difficult to understand.
I liked the movie a lot, it was very touching and you get a good image of how the war really was!

Nou hij was dus gisteren hier in Nederland op canvas, ik heb 'em opgenomen ga zo kijken, lijkt me wel goed en ik wil ook wel het boek lezen.

Die movie was gister hier op tv, ek het nie geweet wat om te verwag nie, en was so beïndruk daarmee. Dis een van die mees roerende verhale wat ek in 'n lang tyd gesien het. Wat 'n aangename verassing!

dit is raar al die mensen int engels en nederlands door elkaar aant lullen :P
vont wel goeie film :) boek niet zo eigk... moet echt in n boek zitten moek m goed vinden dan dat is nie egt zo eigk bij dit boek mja....
dit is zoooo raar! zit normaal beetje engels te lullen op imdb.com en dan ineens int nl typen is beetje vreemd mja.. als die engelsen t nie kunne lezen moeten ze maar nl leren hoowr!! wij moeten al die talen leren en zij helemaal nix grrr :p

goeie film dus ;)

Anna says something like "If we can't understand one another, what chance has anyone else?" and Lotte doesn't want to understand. There's quite a lot of great dialogue there, but there would be more for someone knowing the language well. Is that what evaah_1991 was referring to?

Godzeidank, ik kan in het nederlands praten. In het Engels ben ik de hele tijd bang dat ik vage fouten maak en dat mensen gaan zeiken:P

Dit is een van mijn favo films, een van de weinige die me aan het huilen kreeg(aan het einde)

This is one of my favourite films, one of the few that made me cry (at the end)

Ben het helemaal met je eens. Gisteravond voor het eerst gezien op TV en vond het een prachtige film; van begin tot eind met fantastisch acteerwerk. De hele 'look and feel' van de film om het maar even op zijn Engels te zeggen vond ik ook heel mooi.

Een dingetje vond ik iets minder: het einde vond ik een beetje tegenvallen (niet qua verhaal) maar de manier waarop het was gefilmd.

Ik heb zojuist de DVD besteld. Ben niet echt fan van Nederlandse films (eerlijk is eerlijk) maar ik vond echt dat in het bezit moest komen van deze ongelooflijke film.

Ow, ow, *beep* Bren, when do I get that spinal tap thing?
