WHAT A CRAPPY PROGRAM!!!

This has just been shown in the UK and it is plain awful.
This is a rip-off of Malcolm in the Middle minus the laughs, good scrpt writers and good actors.

A Waste of anyone's time.
I hope it has been cancelled!!!!

Lets all get along!!!!!

please help us all and quit trying to revive this crappy show!! its obvious that they are just trying to ride the coat tail of malcom in the middle, in stead they are also utilizing the wonder years as well. STOP PLEASE!! fox do yourself a favor and quit trying to revive this crap of a show take it off the air. and put back on family guy and futurama!!

Well, I think it's good. It's funny. So it's another comedy, like Malcolm in the Middle...has anyone heard of GENRE? God, it's like that boy that said Bowling For Soup were ripping off Blink 182...they're in the same goddamn genre!!! Get over it! I'd better finish before I start flaming...

reply

has anyone heard of GENRE?

When a "genre" is defined by one particular TV show, and all other members of this "genre" are blatantly ripping it off, I don't think it counts.

Not that I care about either show. I won't return.

Bilbo was MEANT to blindly stumble into that quest, in which case you too were MEANT to do as I say

I think the writing is excellent, the acting superb, and the characters very funny and engaging. I give it two thumbs up. I think it's far better than Malcom etc.

And yes, put Futurama back on!

reply

totally agree!
I never liked Malcolm in the Middle. Didn't make me laugh/giggle as much as Oliver Beene does.. I saw it yesterday for the first time, so hilarious! (it was the episode when the father is trying to get the parking place in front of their house)

it may be similar to malcolm in the middle....but it has one thing that malcolm in the middle does not...and that is andrew lawrence! he makes the program!
plus oliver beene is set in a totally different era.

I have to agree with you Adella, as Andrew Lawrence is the only reason I watch the show! Apart from being very good looking his character is hilarious and stereotyped perfectly. And who cares if it's a rip off of MitM, it's still a watchable show. I prefer Oliver Beene personally but just my opinion.

you are a moron.

Oliver Beene was great! Funny and great actors, and hilarious storylines! The kid was an exceptionally good actor (Oliver) at such a young age. I was always so amazed that he was so adept at portraying adult-type manurisms and emotions at his age.

i never understand why ppl go to message boards for shows and ppl that they say they don't like.. if this show is crap then what does that make you for visiting a message board for it? get a life!!!

reply

What!? This show was waaay better then Malcolm in the Middle! Idiot executives at Fox went and canceled it for no reason! You're crazy!

I like Malcolm in the Middle a lot and don't think it is like it at all other than the fact its centered around a child character. the humour is very different as is the setting.

I found the comedy to be fresh and original. If it can be compared to anything then the Wonder Years spring to mind. However I think this has a little more of an edge to its comedy.

I think its a shame this show was cancelled as it was a lot more original, funny and interesting than many of the run of the mill american comedies.

I don't get how people compare this to Malcolm in the Middle at all. It is nothing like Malcolm in the Middle. It is also a million times funnier than Malcolm.

Now The Wonder Years comparison is right on. It is The Wonder Years done by Fox. Just like Married With Children is any formulaic family sitcom done by Fox. "Done by Fox" = add a buttload of family dysfunction
