So David Lynch... I love it!

I know that in reference to this movie, David Lynch's name has been brought up, and I totally agree. The whole time I was watching I was getting a "Mulholland Dr." vibe. If you liked this movie, I highly recommend seeing "Mulholland Drive". I think both are great films. I love David Lynch and I'm so happy to see that someone is folowing in his footsteps!

I would have to disagree with the David Lynch comparison. The Polish brothers at least have some sense of concrete storylines in their films. The dialogue and characters are coherent (bizarre and odd) but at least coherent. Also the Polish brothers aren't transfixed with sex scenes and nudity, the way Mr. Lynch is. And their films have beginnings and ends - so very un-Lynch.

The only similarity between this film and a David Lynch film is the appearance of Kyle MacLachlan.

A true believer you are!

I supposed you think there is a meaning to EVERYTHING in Mullholland Drive too.
You are putting way too much credit into Lynch who laughs all the way to the bank because he's got you.
Mullholand Drive should have shown you his genious in that he can create something that is nothing and everyone calls it a masterpiece. Don't get me wrong here, I love Lynch and many of his movies are a great watch - but to think that he is a brainiac master of cinema is wrong.
He initially shot Mullholand Drive as a TV pilot - when it wasn't picked up, he used some money the studios threw at him and filmed some extra stuff (ie Lesbian Sex scenes, Creepy Thing in the alley, etc.) of which made no sense and had nothing to do with any core story - it was all done to make the film as bizarr and "Lynchian" as possible so the true believers would go "amzing, brilliant, best ever"
Lynch's best film is "Straight Story" simply because he finally made a great linear film that didn't need bizarr sex or midget dream-men to make it "great".
He proved he is above the Almodvar's and Bertolucci's - but it doesn't sell. So back to the no-story bizarr cinema so people like you will come back to the theater a dozen times to try to figure out the film - Lynch laughs all the way to the bank because it means nothing - I know it, he knows it - and the masses don't.
Emperor has no clothes.
Polish brothers are better filmmakers all around.

I consider "The Elephant Man" Lynch's tour de force. I believe his penchant for the dark and disturing (from Eraserhead to Mulholland) reveals an inherent self-indulgence which, unfortunately, will prevent his name from ever being mentioned as one of the truly great filmakers.

I like the polish brothers. David lynch is the product of the juvenile imagination of former goth kids turned movie critics. Not only do his movies suck, but they possess no genuine story and the suggestion that they don't need one is absurd and even psychotic. which by the way if you've noticed, his movies often are. Still, few scenes have been able to provoke a reaction the way a topless patricia arquette with a gun pointed to her head in lost highway, have in all of cinematic history..... Sicko stuff. The farrelly brothers are deeper. Makes you wonder why there's so much hype around Lynch's films, and I only stumbled upon norfork accidentally, which is brilliant. Weird, which correspondingly is probably the nicest thing I can say about this sadomaschistic "artist". Makes sense that he hangs out with Marilyn Manson, because they seem to have gone to the same "art school", or maybe he just exploits him like he does all his actors. Note to Lynch fans: get laid.

Well, whoever can record theater scene in Mulholland Dr. deserves my depest respect and for you who can only remember lesbian scene only (which is masterfully taken and presented btw) i suggest to get some porn 'cause you don't make any difference so don't drop *beep* here and do not compare this two directors, they are on different sides.

The Polish Bros. films are pretty offbeat, but they don't come across as surreal of stream of consciousness like Lynch's films do. Lynch is a fantastic director. Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead, Bue Velvet, The Elephant Man, and The Straight Story are ALL fantastic. His so-called "failures" like Lost Highway and Wild at Heart are interesting viewings. Who can forget Twin Peaks, a show that is infinitely influential?

David Lynch's films may or may not mean anything. That is the beauty of abstract art. A movie doesn't have to have a solid story to be engaging. His films are full of ideas, imagery, and bizarre things that you won't see in other movies.

Lynch films are all good, mulholland drive, blue vevlet, wild at heart, lost highway, eraserhead, the straight atory and elephant man...his worst id Dune that its good also.... lost highway and wild at heart are both masterpieces...

No hay banda! There is no band. It is all an illusion... - Mulholland Drive

It's ersatz David Lynch. Ironically, I just watched ERASERHEAD again yesterday on Netflix streaming video. Netflix sent me this piece o' crap accidentally. I'm appalled at how...immature it is. Lynch is an artist and the Cohen Bros. have genius. I know now why the Polish Bros. latest movie about cow *beep* (how appropriate) can't get a release, even on DVD!
