Imagery Saves this Film

This film doesn't tell much of a story, and the stilted dialog tries hard to imitate absurdist humor, but much of it comes across as inane instead (the exception being Nick Nolte, who gave a good performance and narration).

However, there are several images in this film that are extremely memorable because they are so off-putting and disturbing: the dog on stilts, Happy's porcelain and wooden hands, Flower Hercules' attire (particularly the clothespins on the hairpiece), etc. They have this impact (at least for me) because they seem half animal/human and half-artificial.
