I want to know coz I'm still watching the show and I don't want to spoil any surprises.
I'm still watching the series and I still cant figure out where in the series this movie goes.

I watched it just after I got done watching eppie 65 ("Farewell days of my youth"), and had no problem. It doesn't exactly rely on anything in the anime beyond the fact that Inuyasha is able to do both the wind scar and backlash wave at will. However, you could probibly watch it after 64 ("Giant Ogre of the Forbidden Tower") because at the beginning of 65 it seems like everyone is fighting together really well, and have had some sort of a bonding, and that might be explained by the movie.
But basically, any time after Inuyasha masters those two techniques is just fine from what I can tell.
My roommates and I just watched it - we finished season two the day before and it seemed to fit in perfectly.
Well, there were no spoiled surprises, at least.
It must be after Koga and his bros became regulars, since Rin is with Sesshoumaru. Koga himself never appears.
