Does jessica alba really try to act hood in this movie? and does she really talk with a street accent? if so i cant watch it. i will be too embarrassed for her.
shareI watched this with my daughter last night. It was an okay movie but I think Alba was miscast. She's a Cali girl and can't do that NY streetwise talk if her life depended on it. There are so many other actresses who could have given this an authentic flavor. For the amount of dancing I saw she was fine but she didn't even look like she was comfortable in this role. The kids stole the scenes they were in though--they were awesome and the finale dance scene was really good.
shareThanks. I watched about 5 mins of it the other day and it seemed like she tried too hard to get that accent out. It didn't seem natural.
