soccer match scene

Hello, I recently watched this movie again on spanish tv (dubbed) after seeing it at the cinema a year ago with subtitles, which has made me notice a few things I hadn't the first time.

During the soccer fight, Milos runs up and kicks a policeman. The whole brawl and especially the way he jump-kicks him is very reminiscent to me of that famous match between dinamo and red star, and of Boban's karate-kick on a policeman. Was this intentional on Kusturica's part? Has anybody else noticed it?

How about the scene in general? Is the opposition team supposed to be from some other village, or from the same one? I notice their fans were waving SDA and croat flags while Milos' team supporters had yugoslav flags. I took this scene as an obvious metaphor of the tension between the more nationalist sectors of society and those that still believed in a united Yugoslavia, but Kusturica was not implying it was mostly serbs who were still believing in this "dream", was he? I mean, with the exception of the goalie, who I think was muslim, everybody else we know rooting for Milos' team are serbs. Unfortunately, i think this plays well for those who say that Kusturica's films try to blame croats and muslims for the fracture of Yugoslavia.

One last thing, when the two guys go and piss on the goalie, was it just mischief?Do they do it precisely because he's muslim? Why do they need the go-ahead from Filipovic? Where they intending on starting a brawl?

Too many things went over my head, I'm afraid, even though I'm very interested in the whole history of yugoslavia and it's break-up and I especially like Kusturica's films (the few that I've seen).

Well, i think that that scene is a metaphor for match in Zagreb when Yugoslavia started to fall apart.
I think guy pees on goalie becaouse he is from opposite team and they want to distract him while his player gives a goal.
