Wouldn't anybody agree....?

That Hugh Bonneville makes the perfect bad guy? (Granted, this is the very first film I've seen him in - but even at that, he made quite an impression in my book.) I think his (blue?) eyes are most impressive - especially in Daniel Deronda! They're almost creepy to look at.

Bonneville makes a pretty good duffus as Rushmore in Mansfield Park. in MP he's not evil, just stupid. Versatile actor. By the way dja see Johdi May in Mayor of Casterbridge? Wonderful!

yeah he made an absolute gorgeous lonely dag in notting hill

I thought the entire cast was superb. I agree with you about The Mayor of Casterbridge. Jodhi May was what attracted me to this mini-series in the first place. She's a delight.

this is totally random, but I know the girl who does the erasofelegance site. I just thought I would say that.

Bonneville makes a great bad guy! His cold stare and deliberate movements all connote "scary" to me! (And why is it that I always assume someone named "Henleigh" is going to be a dastardly villain?)

He does sound like Colin Firth, which someone else mentioned in another thread.

I think his performance really stands out, as compared to others in the miniseries. Romola Garai is also great. Hugh Dancy is gorgeous, but disappointing here.

The character of Grandcourt so villainous, it's a delight to watch. And Bonneville did a wonderful job, I love the way he says his lines; his face always seems nonchalant but his voice is all sarcasms and snarls.

Jsut finished watching the movie. It was good but I was tired of the spoiled blonde girl by then end. Grancourt was evil but I enjoyable to watch. Also it was interesting to see him and Jodhi May together, even though they don;t have many scenes together. They played brother and sister in Tipping the Velvet with their cockney accents. Then to move on and play evil husband and jewish singer. Both very versitile. Huge Dancy is good looking to watch in this movie. I liked the end with him and Mariah on the boat sailing away. I could't wonder, what was his attraction to Gweneth? Was it love or lust? I am glad he didn't pick her, she was too self centered and spoiled, and a murderess (sorta of). Mariah was better in that she suffered (being pushed into singing and then sold to some man), but never gripped about it all the time, like Gweneth, who complained all the time. Oi Vay.
