Some myths destroyed, some created

I've just finished watching these, and i've been reading a lot of things about what people say cremaster is or isn't. I feel that as a student witho knowledge, i should point out several points here.

Firstly, the cycle was made out of order (4, 1, 5, 2, 3) due to the resources barney had, and the technical competency he felt he had. Barney also believed that, evonomically and in terms of filmic purposes, this was the way his series should follow, so that during the final film (cycle 3, the most indecisive *see point five*), he would be able to draw on elements from all five

Secondly, the title "Cremaster" refers to the muscle that controls the lowering of the scrotum during puberty. The cycle therefore represents this lowering - part 3 being the part where the most confusion occurs, and where the full physiological difference between man and woman occurs. since it is also the last in the series, it refers to points made in other ones, to add to this confusion.
Hope this helps people understand the series. if anyone wants to know more, i'm sure mark cousin covered the cycle and its meaning in an issue of BFI rag "Sight and Sound"

I kinda got lost here: "(cycle 3, the most indecisive *see point five*)" Would you care to explain? I'm sure I missed something.

I believe he intended to have a much longer post. Allow me to try and explain what I think he meant.

As far as I know, the Cremaster series represents the function of the Cremaster muscle, and follows on a timeline from its highest position (or most feminine) to its lowest position (or most masculine). Part three would be right in the middle, and therefore, more sexually confused. Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.
