Big Question about 'The Big Empty'

Ok, so as soon as I say Rachael Leigh Cook's name, many of you might already know what I am wondering. So, here goes. In the seen where Cook's character 'Ruthie' is first seen she is returning John's wallet that he had left at the bar. When she goes to say something like, "well you should be careful with all that money in there", she hooks her thumbs into her belt loops and pulls on her pants to relax her hands. This cause her low cut pants to ride down even more. Now my question is, is it shading, or is it a part of her clothes/wardrobe, or is that dark area her snatch? Because it honest to goodness looks exactly like a patch of dark hair and you can see the inside of her right thigh as well which would indicate her pants had exposed her pubes. But it could be some shadow or somehting or somehting on her pants but from John's look when he looks down in that area, it would seem I am correct and she showed him her bush. So if you have seen this what do you think? I bought the dvd is how I saw it. Never saw it in theatres so I don't know if it was there or not.
