Hardest game ever
A friend and I have been working on this for a week straight. We can get to the last level using every trick we can muster but it just doesn't have any give. What do you guys think the most difficult game is?
shareThis one was pretty difficult indeed. It took blood, sweat and tears reach the last level only to have the game unfinished I just couldn't beat this game yet it was great.

I played again this game with Gens emulator and finally beated it.
shareIt sure ranks up there in the hardest NES games list, but I'd say either Solomon's Key or Silver Surfer are the hardest!!! I haven't played every game though, but that's what I say are the most difficult. Ghosts N Goblins too.
I got Battletoads around 1991 when it came out (Got it Xmas morning). Boy was I excited. The game was extremely fun even though I couldn't pass Level 3 the Turbo Tunnel for about 3 months or so before I finally did so. That level kicked a$$ on everyone for a while, and it still does!
These days I can beat it pretty easily, but I still die lots. I have a vhs tape with all levels 1-12 on it as proof, lol. In the last section of Karnath's Lair (Snake level), I must die about 10 times, lol.
Truly one of the best designed Nintendo games ever made, and most challenging.
I wish I could tape vhs games again, I think I need another cord for it, the one I had, the connector somehow snapped off inside.
I can't believe Battletoads is already 15 years old this year!!!

I would have to agree with difficulty. I remember getting this game when I was 11 and my NES controller was thrown more than once. The first two levels are not very tough but once you hit level three the game becomes an absolute nightmare in terms of difficulty. Great music and graphics for the NES. The combat system was also incredible.
shareYeah, those game was difficult, mostly because it depended on timing during the gameplay. Especially in Level 6 in BT: Ragnaroks World were you must drive from a spinning ball (much like running from the Giant Brain in the first BT-game). Not to mention level 3, when you`re riding that speed bike, and some ugly monsters riding on rockets drop obstacles in front of you.
The games were also wery humouristic. Who cant remember the snake level were Zits is doing sex moves while climbing on the giant snake? Or his jawdropping in the first game when he encounters the Big Fat Giant Rat?
