looking for a recap on season 5 please

Hi, thanks in advance to anyone that replies. Basically, we watched seasons 1-4 on dvd, missed season 5+ on tv, from what Ive been told no more boxsets will be released in the uk, season 6 started on more4 last night, so we bit the bullet and watched it.

But now were a little lost, samamtha has a baby, I assume this happened in season 5, but no idea who the father is, it looks like the fbi has new boss and he said something about trouble malone has caused, he should move on ????

Please, any kind soul thats got a few minutes, me + wife need a detailed recap on season 5, ive tried the episodes guides on various sites but there not very helpful.

thx again.

Ok obviously this is loaded with spoilers so I won't put it in spoiler tags.

In a nut shell the first ep of the season shows Sam bonding with a young boy who had been kidnapped, no doubt foreshadowing her pregnancy.
Ep 2 has Elena undercover as an exotic dancer and Danny as a client. They make out while undercover. Also Jack and Ann fight about the Davis investigation because they'd been questioned about it and Ann thinks Jack was in the wrong.
Ep 4 there's a little (teeny tiny) bit of Martin and reference to his past drug abuse and moving on, only because the victim's sister was a junkie so it was an opportunity for a tie in.
Ep 5 the 'bad guy' from the S4 Ep Requiem has his son and mistress go missing, Jack uses the opportunity to investigate/terrorize the guy rather than actually work on the case (in the end the son is dead from playing with a gun and accidentally shooting himself).
Ep 7 is about a mentally disturbed woman that it turns out Martin used to work with but has no memory of, this makes him feel bad and at the very end of the ep he introduces himself to someone at the office he doesn't know.
Ep 8 Jack goes undercover as a poker player in an underground game, he gets drugged, the rest of the team works to solve the case and find him (which they do). Some say there're Sam/Jack moments but I must have missed it.
Ep 9 a social worker goes missing, was kind-of-not-really abducted by an angry parent, Viv (with a rather impressive shot) and Sam save him at the last moment.
Ep 10 cancer patient goes missing, pretty bland ep, they could've at least used the fact Martin's aunt had cancer or something to tie the team to the case... (sorry I'm editorializing).
Ep 11 high school basketball player goes missing, some guy thought he'd raped his friend so he attempted to teach him a lesson, turns out the boy wasn't a rapist; Ann miscarries, she kinda breaks up with Jack (this is her last ep)
Ep 13 competitive eater goes missing, Danny and Elena get together.
Ep 14 an artist goes missing, her and her friends had watched a girl fall off a bridge due to their poor judgment when they were teenagers and now that she wanted to come clean she got killed by her friend. Sam is upset by the case because it's reminding her of something in her past.
Ep 16 Elena's daughter Sophie is taken by her father (which they don't know for sure at the time it happens). Side note: Danny and Elena's ex used to be friends, needless to say he's pissed that Danny's not only on Elena's side but they're kinda dating.
Ep 18 Sam's sister visits her asking for help with something, Sam does everything to avoid her and ends up blowing her off. In the case a teenage girl who lives with her grandfather goes missing, she was looking for her father (this one has a relatively happy ending).
Ep 19 we see Sam's baby daddy at the beginning (we don't know at the time that it's him, it's just a one night stand). Sam gets a call that her sister's gone missing, she begins the investigation with local PD (I think) and later accepts help from the team. When Sam and her sister were kids/teens their mother's boyfriend had been raping Sam's sister and Sam killed him but her sis had gotten pregnant (which Sam didn't know) and left after that. She gave the baby up for adoption but now the adoptive parents had come to Emily (that's Sam's sister) because her son has cancer and they were looking for a marrow donor (the reason she'd gone to see Sam before) so Emily went to the son of the man that got her pregnant and he caught on to who she was and that she 'killed' his father, he tried to kill her, Sam shot him. Sam and her sister kinda reconnect. Sam's ready to fess up but Jack stops her at the last second.

I can't remember anything else that's particularly important until the season finale, which was appropriately titled The Beginning (and I add to the end of that 'Of the End')

Finale: A teenage girl's mother reports her missing, turns out she'd joined a cult and had been abducted by one of the members, this is the beginning of the human trafficking arc (which I don't think was ever resolved), it's also the beginning to Jack being (even more of) a massive ass to everyone, and of the investigation against him. Also Elena and Carlos (that's her ex) fight over custody of Sophie.

If you have any other questions, or if something need clearing up, feel free to ask.

It's Series 7 started on More 4 this week with Series 6 on Channel 4 tonight (Thursday).

Where did you get your information that they would be not be releasing any more box sets in the UK? That's a real blow. All I knew was that they hadn't yet scheduled S5.

If the worst comes to the worst you can get S5 from France - it can be played in English. With any luck they will release S6 & 7 there too if it's right about the UK.

seasons 1-4 didnt sell well at all in the uk, at £60 a pop in places like virgin and hmv, does anyone expect them to, we brought 1-3 off play and rented 4 from blockbusters, I asked in bb`s and read some posts around the net that there are no plans for any more boxsets due to the poor sale from 1-4, bb`s have season 5 on there website but it states 2020 as the the release date.

Not a problem, I hope you both get to actually see the season for yourselves one of these days
