favorite episode EVER

I would have to say, season 3, episode "Nickel and Dimed" about the drug trafficking mother.

It's really impossible for me to choose just one after 159 episodes, but the two-part 'Fallout' from Season One has to be in my top five favorites. It had everything--really good dialogue, good plot, great drama, a team member in danger......and it convinced me that my favorite agents still cared for each other, especially after I heard Hank Steinberg speak on the DVD.

Maple Street from season 1 is definitely my favorite.

I'm hopelessly hopeful you're just hopeless enough...

Clare De Lune and Off The Tracks!

Clare De Lune is absolutely the best episode. The powerhouse ending with the David Gray song and Enrique's monologue. My favorite scene from the entire series.

Season 2 Episode 21 "Two Families". That was my favorite episode out of all of them. I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode, I didn't want it to end. Ed Redlich was a true genious as a writer. My second favorite was Season 2 Episode 17 "Gung Ho". Gung Ho was the first episode of the show I had seen and that is what got me to start watching it. Gung Ho is in my top five, but Two Families is easily at number one on my list.

I would have to say, it's a toss up between the two part season 1 finale, and the CSI crossover

There were several. I can't quote when but I was very moved by the episode that showed "Jack" deal with his father and his father's death. I also found the episode when the focus changed and we got to see things from the family's point of view of the process and the team. That was terrific. Anthony Lapaglia is a very moving actor and I am so sorry to see the show cancelled.

In Extremis from Season 1. It stuck with me.

Doug Roberts: What do they call it when you kill people?
The Towering Inferno

Wannabe from season 1.

In The Dark and Thou Shalt Not are tied for my favorite, they are the first two shows from Season #3. It's a shame this show got so off base and eventually cancelled, it used to be really good.

reply

I don't really have a favorite. It would be hard to pick. The first two seasons were very compelling. I wish too that this show could have stayed on track.

But if I had to choose, it would be

In Extremis (because it was so thought provoking)

Hang Onto Me (the episode where Charles Dutton shines and finds his child. I loved when he gave the Christopher medal to Jack.)

Suspect (I'm not sure if the title is correct, but its the episode where Jack gives the monologue as he and Martin are transporting Graham Spaulding)

All three of these episodes left such a lasting impression on me.

I also thought the final scene in Wannabe was very compelling with the missing boy and the clothes line and Danny.

There are lots of episodes that were great but two of my favourites would have to be "Suspect" and "Copycat". The character of Graham Spaudling was so hideous. I loved Jack Malone in these episodes, finding out more about his troubled childhood was heartbreaking. ALP certainly acted his socks off. They were hard to watch for their subject matter but very compelling none the less.

I agree with you passinthetime. ALP was outstanding and viewing those episodes in particular you can see why he has earned some acting accolades.

Having said that, I think the actor who played Graham Spaulding was also outstanding too.

The episodes wouldn't have been so amazing, had both actors not both been on their game.

Yes, absolutely agree. Conor O'Farrell who played Graham Spaulding was superb he made him so loathesome. Both he and ALP were certainly on top form during these episodes and of course Graham Spaulding also appeared in Are You Now or Have You Ever Been, another great episode IMO, but probably not to everyones liking.

Suspect and Are you now... in particular for me because I thought the character of Spaulding was so well played in both and I loved the tension in both.

No excuse for what they did, but that doesn't mean they should be punished as adults. They aren't adults, they don't think like adults, they aren't as smart as adults, they shouldn't be punished as adults.

I disgree. If the boy had died, then definitely the girls should have been tried but in juvenille court. Bullying, especially nowdays with cyberbullying, is a very serious problem and there should be strong punishments in place to deter kids from doing it. I disagree with kids being tried as adults for something like this but there should be more disciplinary action than just a slap on the hand. Children are unaware of the long-term psychological effects their bullying of another can have. Adults should make strong deterrants away from it, imo.
