Showdown - Erroneous

The plot line says Martin 'mortally wounded' - IMDB needs a dictionary - and until they get one they should have a way of being corrected.

IMDB's content is almost entirely posted by users. If you read some of the plotlines and summaries, pay very careful attention to the grammar - syntax (word order) and morphology (the way words are constructed, like how we add an /s/ to a word to make it regular plural). You'll see that a lot of the plotlines, for some reason, are written by folks who speak something other than English as a first language. Sometimes that causes some vocabulary errors.

EXACTLY!! That's why I ask IMDB to find a way to have feedback on those errors, etc. I live in a country where English is a THIRD language so the problem is more than evident to me.

And I have a background in linguistics, plus I'm one of the rare Americans who actually speaks multiple languages (to varying degrees of fluency, and not one that's actually "balanced" fluently), so I notice these things too.

IMDB doesn't really care about the content that the users post, except when one reports another for abusive language. The only stuff they really check is content accuracy in the "fun stuff" (trivia, goofs, connections, etc.). Have you ever read The Walking Dead discussion boards? Take a look at them and see what you think. Then read some of the character biographies - it's one of the worst boards on IMDB.

I roomed with 2 grad linguistic students UMich so got a good intro then. Also with living + travelling in Europe etc. most of life, I love 'guessing' at nationalities via accents. So am amazed at films' attention to 'accents' - often NONE .

Walking Dead not my genre but looked at topics on board - was enough to tell me I don't want to go there.
