The 50/50: Haven't the contestants learned by now?

Come on! The 50/50 lifeline has NEVER been a "random selection", no matter what they used to claim, going all the way back to the early days with Regis Philbin.

They make no pretense anymore about the obvious fact that if the contestants think out loud and announce that they've narrowed it down to two of the four choices, which they name, and then use the 50/50, it's the other two choices that will be eliminated. If you think aloud and then select that lifeline, you're throwing it away. You'd think that, like being cautious about influencing the audience before polling them, all contestants would be wary about thinking aloud and sharing their potential choices with the host.

Also very annoying is thinking out loud and then asking the audience.

What about the ones who call up the plus-1, then TELL their plus-1 what THEY think, instead of asking the opinion of their friend!?!
