Exhibit A: Jimmy is the star and Cindy is his love interest.

Exhibit B: I guess I don't watch the show enough to notice the random black boy, but I can see your point regarding Libby. In the producer's defense, I'd like to say that if all the girls had super high IQs and acted the same, this show would be pretty boring. Libby & Cindy have a friendly chemistry that they might not have if Libby was a "valley girl" or other stereotype.

Exhibit C: Again, I'm not familiar with Bolbi, but as I said before, kids want to relate to the show and IMHO, having everyone perfect doesn't reflect most people's worlds as a a whole.

First of all, are you really using the word "retarded" to help your argument that someone else is rude and insensitive? And while I do agree with some of the points you have made, don't forget about all of the 'dumb' white kids the show portrays.

Oh, and the mean spiteful aliens and robots, maybe the show is speciest, too.

I thought Nick was Italian it think he once said something about some kind of italian pasta (im not saying all pastas are italian or that all Italians make pasta) or that he was some sort of representation of a greaser or the Fonz. Libby is into all types of Music not just Funk, but all types rock metal, hip-hop she only seems to dislike yoddeling. sheen is meant to be the comic relief the fact that he is hispanic should be overlooked, carl is the typical Nerd that nobody has seen in real life before (how often does an actual nerd with all the stereotypical "nerd" characteristics actaully exist in real life) Boelbi isnt from russia he is from a made up country, and he exhibits the habits of that kid in the original willy wonka and the chocolate factory who fell in the chocolate river. This is a movie turned tv show i doubt steve odekerk expected it to become a tv show, so he made movie characters meant for one movie and not an entire series. And one would only see this as racist if they believed in the stereotypes stated in the original post. Anthony d-kelly do you believe in those stereotypes, well if you stated them then you must so wouldnt that make you racist. And i know your not a racist but you see how easy it is to make someone seem like a racist when they arent, you can take mosyt things out of context and make them sound racist.

i wish people would stop accusing people of being racist especially after one slip of the tongue! you hear Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. (its ridiculous one guy uses the N-word something i think shouldnt be used by anyone and apologizes and gets the support of jesse jackson but imus (who was too old to be on radio anyway) calls some girls nappy-headed hoes (a terrible thing but not a racial slur on the level of the n-word) and because he doesnt go to jackson to help him apologize but rather goes directly to the people he insulted to apologize he gets attacked by jesse jackson thats *beep* up.

I watch Jimmy Neutron daily due to taking care of my niece and nephew, and I love it. It contains humor for kids and subtle adult humor that kids do not pick up on easily. I do not find it at all racist. With the plot of a boy genius, you would expect to see character's that would be slightly lower on the IQ scale to make it interesting.

And also, Jimmy's friends name is not Sean. Its Sheen

What are you guys griping about? Jimmy Neutron is one of the least racist kids' shows on television. Most kids' shows don't even include Latinos at all, much less have one as a main character. Yes, Sheen (and it's SHEEN, not SEAN) may be simple-minded at times, is it ever as a result of his race? And Libby is one of the smartest characters; she functions as the shows "straight man/woman", keeping the other characters from getting TOO crazy. The only part of the show that may be racist is Bolbi. But notice how he's not from any specific country; they actually made up the country of Backheristan as Bolbi's origin. The "-stan" makes it sound like a country near the Middle East, yet many of his mannerisms appear Slavic. They went to a lot of trouble to make sure he doesn't offend people of any specific nation, and for that I applaud them.

In short, this show is NOT horrifyingly racist.

and naive..they really even it out..

Libby is black, but also a very intelligent girl and a main character

About the foriegn guy..
They aren't being racist they never mention where he was from...
Just becuz he's a foreigner doesn't mean anything

Well if its racist I don't think they meant for it to be.

Libby is the "sassy black friend". The whole "uhn uhn girlfriend" thing is a total stereotype.
She reminds me of the character Trixie on American Dragon Jake Long. Only Trixie is much worse.
Every word that comes out of her mouth is just embarrassing.
The creators were talking about her character on their blog.
One of the creators said he had hung out with some black girls at an old job and they were so funny and to him. He says he wanted to "capture some of their spirit" and this was his view of them so he based the character of Trixie off of them.
I don't know what's worse :his view" of black girls or that he actually made it into a character.

Now I don't know what the deal is with Jimmy Neutron but I have to wonder if the character Libby was always black? If not did they decide to add extra "sass" when they made her black or was her personality going to be the same regardless of color?

I don't believe they are racist though.

Something tells me I've been dreaming of someone who was never real
