controversial, huh? imagine matrix with trinity as lead character and no keanu reeves. this is how this felt to me.

As much as I like Beckinsale, I agree. I feel the series might’ve been better off with Michael as the protagonist and Selene as the main support

Nah, Kate was excellent here. Underworld was one of the movies that really proved to me that female-led action movies can be every bit as entertaining as action movies with dudes in the lead.

I have to say, I definitely don't agree that Michael would've been better. Scott Speedman is cool and all but he really doesn't have even half the charisma of Kate. This is Selene's franchise.

Michael was boring and bland. not that Kate is a Daniel day but still. she at least had something to her

Strong disagree.

Kate Beckinsale makes this film.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is an example of a Underworld film without Kate and it just doesn't work all that well.

Kate Beckinsale as Selene is the Underworld franchise.
