Audition Scene

Does anyone else think that that audition scened lived up to be everything it was supposed to be?

I remember thinking, "He's supposed to be this really great actor but never gets the part, will he really deliver in this audition?" And holy hell....I really think it is some of the finest acting I have ever seen.

I always loved Paul Rudd but he won my heart with that.

I completely agree. Like the characters in the casting office, I too actually teared up and felt my heart swell. Paul Rudd is such a funny funny guy in so many of his comedies, great at comedy improv, and equally funny in interviews -- but that audition scene proved he can also take sappy, cliched dramatic dialogue and turn it into serious, heart-rending gold.

Paul Rudd is such a great, amazing, complete actor. He should do more serious stuff to show off his chops. Sigh. And he's so so cute!!

Same here. I've been a fan for years. Unlike a lot of people, I have seen and appreciated him in serious roles before... However, this one particularly blew me away... The audition scene showed what an amazing, underrated actor he is and actually made me teary too.. Shame more people don't know this film..

I love you so much I almost forgot to brood!

It's actually surprising how good at sreious acting some of the funniest guys are: Sandler, Carrey and Carrell have had outstanding roles from time to time, despite they are arch-known for their more zany and silly characters.
