Which one is he? and No Offense but I hope he's the in the pink and not the other one cause the other one just looks SCARY
sharetstrausberg2003, I hate to break it to you, but the one with the lips on IS James St. James, the one and only. But I do believe that his intention with the mouth-mask, was to shock and scare... Which he pulled off beautifully. That was the entire point of being a Club Kid, wasn't it? to shock and scare. One fabulous game of dress up. Eccentricity of that level seems like a great amount of fun.
sharehehe yes its huge in california, my brother DJ's for them sometimes
shareIt will never be the same as it was... but the cali stuff is about as good as it gets now.

These days we're called Kandi Kids. We're all about having fun, loving each other, and dancing hard. Come to some NorCal raves and you'll have a warm welcome and meet some great people!!!
PLUR for life!
Peace, Love, Unity, Respect.
I wanna come...Me and my friend already planed that were going to a rave in London with Chris Crocker and Scott Pink...Its going to be so grand...
I <3 Paris Hilton
i wanna move to new york.
shareRaves are not the same.
At least not anymore.
I mean honestly...pre-planned, free-for-all, $20 securtiy monitored parties...?
You're better off just going to the clubs in England. That's probably the only place that's still as fabulously insane and worthwhile anymore. Actually, Northern Europe in general is fantastic, if you can find the right place.
California and New York are good for starters, but there you're more likely to have to put up with hipsters bitching about their precious Arms and Armory jewels and Built By Wendy tops getting dirty. I'm pretty sure Los Angeles doesn't carry hairbrushes anymore either.

you don't know what the *beep* you are talking about.

I never got into the rave scene when I lived in L.A. but I sure wanted to! Now I'm too old for any of that stuff *sigh*
Bobby Trendy, Anna Nicole's tacky & crappy former interior decorator, was one of the original L.A. club kids. I saw him at a club on NYE in downtown LA in 1995. I'd seen him on Jerry Springer before & recognized him - what a fruit loop. No idea what any of the other club kids are doing but I'm sure they all think they're just too fabulous for words, lol!
Still around?? eh...sort of. I think someone here mentioned England being the place for finding that kind of colorful scene - now inaccurately called "Nu Rave" or "New Rave". But I just watched a mini-documentary on YouTube and, to my dismay, it was nothing more than a bunch of stupid indie kids wearing more accessories and brighter clothes. The guitars, and the "i am totally more hipster than you" attitude pretty much fuels the whole scene. Sadly, I didn't see any evidence of a REAL club feel going on. These people obviously would not be caught dead listening to rave, techno, or acid house regularly. Pretty sad actually...
shareraving is for jackasses. seriously, such a huge waste of time.
shareI'm sure the guy referring to England did not mean "Nu Rave" or "New Rave" as thats alot more Indie as you said...
He was probably talking about Cyber Kids or CrasherKids.. but i'm not sure they are still around..

I am actually guilty of cybering it up myself a few times back in the day!! Ha Ha

Places in London are good. Nights like 'All you can eat' and 'Kashpoint' are very club kid-like. glamourous drags queens, drugs and electro!
shareThey're still huge in New York, I see them on the scene all the time.
Examples of what they're up to:
-Richie Rich: hosts "The Factory" at Lotus every Tuesday
-Amanda Lepore: also hosts "the Factory" and another Lotus party "Loaded" every Friday
-Sophia Lamar: Hosts "Ruff Club" at Annex and used to host Misshapes until last year
-Astro Erle: Hosted Halloween MoFo at Rebel
Check lastnightsparty.com every now and then and you'll see what they're up to. They're all still fabulous, kind people who are living the way they want to.
Ahhh man ecstasy politics just dont work.
If you wanna see what a rave looks like come to the UK we invented it.
Try Europe.
Hidyho!
Since all the replies to this are from years ago, I just waned to update that yes, there are still 'club kids'. When I lived near Philly, I'd go to a goth type club every week, do some speed, and go to a few others on the weekend, etc. I know there's a huge club scene in New York too. Not Pittsburgh though! It's where I moved and it's so disappointing :P
