Commentary on the DVD

The commentary on the DVD was disappointing. I read it was supposed to be "hilarious." Gale has a good sense of humor but Jennifer Elster was a bit annoying.

I've only watched about the first 30 minutes of it with the commentary but she does seem to like to hear herself talk. Maybe just to try to sound interesting.

It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.

They're just free-associating about what's on screen. Some of it is interesting, but I wish she'd tried to keep it more focused. She was the moderator, as it were.

Commentaries are so hit and miss. I always feel like they aren't talking about what I want to hear about during any given seen. I did think some of the free-associating was funny even when it was irrelevent though.
