Where are Korean films?
Perhaps we could get laws passed requiring video stores to carry great Korean and Asian films. Blockbuster - so little, even online! Anyone know of any good sources in ... Los Angeles?

sharechinatown, koreatown, little tokyo and monterey park
shareI've found Ebay to be a brilliant source for Korean films that are no longer available in my country (UK.)
shareI live in midwest USA where few of the international movies are available. I joined netflix and I am now enjoying movies from all over the world. They have great collection of korean movies. Try oldboy--brutal and disturbing, but a masterpiece.
shareUnfortunately, aside from the big titles, it is pretty hard to find Korean films for rental in America. I had an indie video store clerk acquaintance get me into S.Korean cinema about 4 years ago when I was watching lots of Japanese and HK films. He lent me several movies and I bought a bunch of import dvds, but he moved out of the area and it's been pretty much up to me paying $25 a piece to buy Korean dvds, so I've only seen approx. 90-100 titles and have since then missed out on the post-2004 Korean films (I've also only seen a few Korean films that came out before 1997). I really wish more titles would get brought over here and make it to the video rental stores where we could see more of them without spending a small fortune and buying titles somewhat blindly and just crossing our fingers that they'd all be great ones. I use some resources like KFCC and Darcy Parquet's website along with synopses on online vendors sites (plus following the filmographies of a few favorite directos and actors) to try to keep up with which Korean films I most want to see.

Why does watching a little Toonami convince some kids that they're anime experts?
If your city has a Chinatown or similar try looking there. I've found hundreds upon hundreds here in Toronto and area.
shareit's hard to imagine that you're having trouble finding Korean movies in a city that has such a high population of Koreans. When I was a kid growing up in Tx. my mother had no problems finding Korean movies. She rented hers from the nearby Korean grocery store. I would go to a Korean neighborhood, and look for a video store or even a grocery store.
Within you I lose myself, without you I find myself, wanting to be lost again.
