Question.

I forgot how great this show was. Too bad that they don't have it on anymore, so we could actually know who Paul's father was. The question I wanted to know in the beginning Paul reads in his own blood God Is Now Here, but in the last episode the message was God Is Nowhere. What changed? Why would it suddenly say that instead of what it said in the beginning? Did Paul's view now change? Or his beliefs? Or was it something else and what was it? Would of also like to have known who Paul's father was too.

I don't remember the reason exactly, I haven't seen it since it aired on television (I hope to pick up the DVDs though, great show), but when he saw the message it was GOD IS NOW HERE, and Alva was explaining to him that seeing messages in blood is a phenomenon called Hemography. He was explaining to Paul that other people had experienced this phenomenon but they had seen it as GOD IS NOWHERE.

Hope that helps

Is Tommy God? Does God come and go?
Rememeber on the train ride to Tommy's town Paul saw "God is coming" on the water tower. Then he see's the God is Now Here. Paul's God is Nowhere sheet was after he let Tommy go. So maybe that has something to do with it. Not that I really think Tommy is supposed to represent God in their universe, but maybe he does in Paul's mind. Clearly this show was just getting started and left many unanswered questions. I haven't listened to all of the DVD commentary yet, maybe there are some explanations there.

I thought it changed because of Paul died and came back, something about him, his "ability", changed somehow.

Or it could've been that Paul was a person who could go either way - either help the world or hurt it. His faith/destiny wasn't decided until he decided to risk his own life for another person. In the last ep it showed what kind of man he was, he chose a path - the path of good. So he went over to the good guys; the "God Is Nowhere" group. That is what I think atleast .

Btw, I thought that was a bit shame that he went over to the "God Is Nowhere" group, I thought the "specialness" over him was over, since he was the only one who saw that version, but in the end he became one of many :(. Was it only me? NOT that it wasn't interesting as hell that it changed :D

brtsgrl, great hypothesis then! It really was, then that made Paul even more special :D

Did Keel really say that it ONLY reveals itself to the chosen reader? I have to rewatch the Pilot, it has been a while. That doesn't though explain how Tommy in the Pilot saw the same thing? Do I detect a hole in your theory? You could say Tommy was special or it was the end of his life, maybe the "veil" or whatever is lifted in that final moment, but again, there were 12/13 special DESTINED people, so I doubt it.

One thing that didn't make sense was that the miracle itself was proof to me that God exists in this show's universe, regardless if the blood says "God is Nowhere". If not the Christian god, SOME god. Because if in this show a god didn't exist then there's no explanation for the supernatural, therefore nothing that SQ investigates could be real. So I just assumed that the other people were being deceived by Satan or whatever.

so if someone sees "god is no where" then they're good? there was an episode where a guy was killing everyone who saw "god is no where" and he explained to paul that these people were evil and he needed to kill them.

maybe the guy was lying? or the devil was telling him these things?

p.s. i really wanted to see what the deal with the other 3 people was. i miss this show so bad!

I think that maybe the devil was the one who formed the words "God is No Where", simply to destroy the faith of the other people. Maybe Paul, who is obviously meant for something, was shown God is Now Here by God. In the show nearly each "miracle" had elements of good and bad, so we can never tell 100% which is the work of the forces of "good" and the ones which are because of the forces of "evil".

In "Hand of God", I think the devil had just manipulated the kid into believing he needed to kill the "God is Nowhere" people.

Get ready for a badly worded response :P

I don't think Alva said the message is revealed TO the chosen reader, I think he said (and I'm paraphrasing coz I can't remember the exact words) that the message reveals stuff ABOUT the chosen reader, and that it's a matter of your own perspective as to whether you see GOD IS NOWHERE or GOD IS NOW HERE.

That's what I think anyway. And mind you, it's been AGES since I saw an ep of this show so I'm probably wrong :(
