Would 'Miracles' stay on now?

I loved this show when it was on but most of the episodes were not shown because it was during the time we invaded Iraq if I recall. ABC never really gave this show a chance (as it canceled 2 of my other favorite shows at that time, "Two Guys and a Girl" and "Norm").

I really believe this would have been the perfect follow-up show for "Lost." With "Lost" making sci-fi/drama/"actual having to use your brain" shows cool, I really believe that it would make it now. I know it will never happen but with "Jericho" being over, I wish ABC would try this one again.

Yeah...it was one of the highest rated pilots for ABC @ the time it aired...but with all of ABC's preemptions and lack of promotion, they really hurt this show. There was quite a strong campaign complete with petitions, a web site and fans mailing in napkins stating "God is Now Here/Nowhere".

All that said, with shows like Supernatural (actually co-founded by Richard Hatem), Fringe, the Mentalist, Lost, etc...I really think that there would be more of a place for this one. It just came in the post-XFiles, pre-Lost period and ABC just never really backed it.

I think it could. There are a lot more shows out there now of a similar genre that are doing well in the ratings; so bringing it back could be a good thing.

I certainly miss it and would welcome its return. :O)

I just rented this from Netflix. I forgot how wonderful and dark this series was. I do think it would do well now.
Another favorite of mine that didn't get a chance was The Others. I hope they put that on dvd soon.

It may have sustained a cult following big enough to last a couple of seasons, but I don't think this show would ever have been a success, unfortunately. Shows that deal head-on with issues like God and religion are very rarely successes on broadcast television. People who aren't religious at all might think they're promoting religion too much, and religious people usually think they're heinous and sacreligious.

There is nothing wrong with a show only lasting a couple of seasons. The problem with tv here in the U. S. is we think every show has to last 8 or 9 seasons. I love how BBC writers/producers can write a show that will only last a couple of seasons. Life on Mars is a great example of this. I wish we would do the same.
