i saw maybe about 15 minutes of this show and quickly changed the channel. this show is the same cr@@ that is on every other channel, and the story has been redone over and over again. the cast just doesn't fit together, and the scripting is not creative at all.

Well, to each his own....
I think the people bashing the show are missing that pretty much the entire show is improv. There's a general storyline but the dialoge is ad-libbed. It's not your standard sitcom. Some people "get it", some don't. Those that get it and appreciate subtle humor and improv are the ones who enjoy the show.
What's also engaging about the show is that it's grounded in reality for the most part. The current featured review has the reviewer complaining about an 8min sequence about arguing about balancing the checkbook. Most families actually have arguments about balancing the checkbook. You don't have the annoying thing where all the lead character's friends just walk into their homes like on Friends, etc. Or people who have jobs but just never seem to be there.
OMG, it is soo great to know that I am not alone!! Yes, this show really does suck! Bonnie Hunt's "quirky" comments are sooo lame. I hate the maid who bosses the kids around, and the guy in the piano just makes me want to scream.

This show was AWFUL. Let's be honest here. I just stumbled upon this show by accident on youtube because someone uploaded a few episodes. The characters just didn't mesh well, nothing was funny and the writing was lame. The only actor I really liked on the who was David Alan Grier. Also, the little boy who came from the neglectful home was cute and sweet.
I just don't think Bonnie Hunt was ever a really strong actress.
