Just now watching - have questions

1. Why is everyone living in same apt building? I could understand sisters wanting to stay close but the parents as well
2. Was Phylis married to Charles or just had a child w/ him? If they were married then was it stated how long.
3. Not sure what season I'm watching but is Charles/Dee Dee still married? Some scenes shes talking about him as if they are involved but then there be times where it seems different.
