Essence Atkins + Joey Lawrence, Just When It Was Getting Good.

Why oh why do 'the powers that be' keep doing this to me (us)? I was so looking forward to the pairing(?) of Dee Dee (Essence Atkins) and Brett (Joey Lawrence), but once again, they've decided to pull the rug right out from under me (us).

First 'Millennium' (Frank Black and Emma Hollis suddendly getting closer.), and several others that I can think of, now this one. This gets better and better every time.

I pray to God there's a way to bring this show back.

I totally, agrre with you on this point. I love the pairing of Joe and Essence. They certainly had a spark. I was really looking forward to it playing out....

I agree as well. Essence and Joey have a great chemistry, not to mention their office antics were absolutely hilarious. CW will have to realize they are making a mistake not keeping this show, it is just too good.

Essence and Joey did have good chemistry together and I thought the show was going to have them hook up but I guess not. I really hope this show continues.

I can' t believe I liked the character and did not realize that was Joey by looking at him. He was a cute kid that grew up to look good too. Does not always work out that way but glad to see that it did. I like their chemistry but not couplewise.

Damn, I am so sorry I missed last season. All these posts make me regret that I have a night time job and that my VCR sucks. If they bring this back which I pray they will, I hope that they can continue with it.

Not Cimien but this kind of wouldn't surprise me, because for some reason these interracial 'themes' don't seem to last, whether it be television or the movies. Examples:Peter and Simone 'Heroes'(?), Josh and Danielle, 'All My Children', etc.
Wish I knew the answer to that one myself.

When did this happen? I got into this show after one of my friends forced me to watch it... Joey Lawrence?? I've had a crush on him since as long as I can remember

Unfortunately, the 'powers that be' (studio heads, whomever, etc.) decided to 'pull the plug' going into the 'last' (us viewers didn't realize it would be the last one though) season, just as they'd brought Lawrence in (who was doing an excellent show mind you) and his and Didi's character were really hitting it off.

I've continued to contact the My9Network about whatever became of them, in the hope that they will 'return' sometime down the road. Still don't understand why a 'spin-off' with these two was never even considered.

I SO agree with this!! Joey Lawrence was awesome on that show!!! I couldn't wait til season 4. They should've cancelled Girlfriends instead because it SUCKS! And Joey is so hot now!!!

^^Agreed, I HATE when they cancel a show like that. I really liked the pairing of Joey & Essence, they had chemistry and they were funny. They could've been like Kyle & Maxine on Living Single!

I also wanted to see more of Essence Atkins and Joey Lawrence and was diappointed when the show was cancelled.
