Brooks Family Update

This post is several years after the conclusion of Frontier House, but I recently discovered a Travel Blog created by Kristen Brooks, and thought that I would share what the Brooks Family is up too :)

In January 2013 Nate and Kristen Brooks are not only still married (and quite happily it appears), but they have three children (with the absolutely most adorable names on the planet ).

Since I have no personal ties to the family, I have some reservations about posting their children's names, but I have included a link to the blog where you can read all about their current adventure (names included).

It seems that late last year (September/November) the family decided to file for a 60-day Indonesian Visa, and spend a few months abroad. An incredible experience documented in their blog. It is quite an enjoyable read.

Here is the link:

Happy Reading :)

Not very impressive for the children who are living a rootless existence with minimal education. Nice to be bohemian but not at your children's expense.

Depends upon how you define education. Personally, I feel practical skills and an understanding of nature is more beneficial than the corrupted training system that we call education.

Education is about learning important things in life and how to observe, think and resolve challenges. Whereas a training system teaches us what to think and makes us dependent.

where do they get the money to travel the world? I read that food and expenses once they're in a country are relatively cheap, but how do they go to all these locales? Seems just getting to a place is pretty expensive, much less staying there for 60 days.
