Desmond Harrington should have been Frank Smith

Overall I think it was a huge mistake turning it into an ensemble show for the second season but I just couldn't help but notice that Desmond was the only member from the new cast who actually managed to leave an impression. He could have easily replaced Ethan Embry in his role and it would not have been such a big difference. Don't get me wrong I liked Embry too but he was not irreplaceable and if they really wanted to make the show more trendy (as they claimed) they should have just given the same role to Desmond who would have brought some coolness to it. He could have been like an updated version of Frank Smith. Anyways he felt like hi replacement even with the rest of the cast constantly being around him and Ed O'neill. It was a missed opportunity.
