Really? It was 2002! They even had the internet in this film, but not a single teenager in a school had a mobile phone. Hardly realistic.

I graduated in 01 and hardly anyone had phones they carried on them. Some girls would because they had purses and they were usually the Nokia bricks.
2 years later it was very different, but this is set in that 2 or 3 years when cell phones got affordable enough that regular people started carrying them but they were still heavy and bulky and were hardly ubiquitous, especially for teens.
Yes, Chris called Billy on a plain black flip-phone.
