Ahead of its time

Too bad the writers didn't shop this show to the cable networks around 2007. This would have been a great Showtime or AMC project, and they would have been allowed to run free with the multi-angle story of one crime. The cast wouldn't need to change, and the show probably would have been a critical darling. Alas, it was on NBC in 2002, and so it was almost hobbled from the start.
