Meg got soo annoying! (Spoilers)

I liked Meg in the first season. But she got annoying in the 2nd and 3rd season. I've only seen a few episodes in the 2nd season, but from what i saw she was pretty annoying. Especially with her relationship with Drew!

In the 3rd season, oh my gosh! She was so stupid to go off with Chris. Chris was such a bad guy and bad influence on her! She threw away her life and future just so Chris could run from being drafted! She left her family and her chance to go to college for a stupid boy! Ughh! She jsut really annoyed me!

I'm watching seasons 2-3 for the first time (i live in aust) and i quite like the character Meg, my mum hates her. But there was a change from season 1 to season 2, i did not like that whole relationship with Drew, he was annoying.

I think the whole last season was suddenly putting the similarities in bold, italics, and highlighted. It was no more about a family dealing with the sixties and all the change. It was more about WAR and POLITICS. True, people changed in the 60's but I think it would take more than a year for someone to change completely.

I still loved the show but I felt the end was in sight cause a good show was reaching a slug point and they were trying too hard to punch it up.

I agree. I loved Meg in season 1, she was a great character, probably my favorite on the show. By the 3rd season she was really annoying, probably my least favorite character on the show. She made bad choices and didn't seem to care about her family at all.

I think in general the show was great in the first 2 seasons, but in the 3rd season they started to struggle, as the above poster mentioned.

My 'annoying' character was Patty. I am so glad I never had a little sister like that. I feel for people who actually did!

Sarah Ramos must be a really good actress to have played such an inherently unlikeable character.

I love Meg, the whole Drew thing was ridiculous, but she was absolutely right to go with Chris. She loved him and they weren't going to be together any other way. How is he a bad guy? Because he protested against the war in Vietnam, because he didn't like school? I think that makes a lot of people their age now "bad people" because they are protesting the war in Iraq, or tired of the way teaching is in school. How can anyone dislike Meg for leaving with Chris, I just don't understand. Is it because of her family? The Pryors would never turn Meg away if she came back, never. Thats my rant...sorry I just love Meg and Chris together and apart.

Season 3 was the best despite Meg. I hated Meg the 3rd Season. Kept making so many choices. I can see why they canceled it and the ratings kept going down...everyone progressed as a character except for her. She was unwatchable. Brittany Snow also wasn't the greatest actress.

I don't think Meg got annoying her character just changed, she was the stereotypical changing young student not sure what she believes in. I don't think Chris was a bad guy and I think if there was a season 4 she would of ended up coming home anyway. I think Britney Snow is a great actress and the only one from that show to do movies afterwards.

If anything she was smart to run off with the college guy! When was the shows time frame? That's right Vietnam! It's called a smart decision not a dumb one.

reply

I agree running off with Chris wasn't going to harm her. If anything it was gonna give her invaluable life experiences that she'd most definately be talking about today. It wouldn't have prevented her from going to college or getting a good job. It would have helped her realize her passions and goals and she was against the war so why wouldn't she jump on the back of a bike and head to Berkely with her man who was just drafted? She realized there was more to life than what her mother had experienced and what her father wanted for her. It took amazing courage to leave home like that.

I like Meg too but i'm sorry i really hate Chris. Really bad influence!
and I really don't like her dad. He can be very stupid sometimes ugh especially with the whole JJ and Meg thing.

reply

I don't know if anyone else has said it, but they have said that if they'd gotten a fourth season, she would've come back about six episodes into it; JJ would've talked her into coming home.

But yeah, she got annoying, she cried in like every episode.

I just finished season 3 and absolutely hate the way it ended.
I think Meg & Sam should have ended up together.
It didn't really seem like she knew Chris well enough to love him, he helped her with her school play & then almost got her sent to jail? Yeah, I wouldn't have been running to California with the guy leaving my family & friends behind.

reply

I like Meg but her going out with a liar like Chris made me upset. She deserves someone way better than him.

reply

Meg helped Chris change though. He came miles from where he first started. He acknowledged his faults, his lying and I personally think he was a different person from back when he decided to vandalize the recruting center. I don't think Meg would've jumped on the back of his bike with him had she not realized this herself.

reply

MadameRoyale, I agree. And Chris was anything but bad.
